Herbie

„Little Warrior“

Herbie was rescued with severe mange from a mass killing in Chefchaouen along with Gina, Memphis and Chicco. He shared a territory with them as a little puppy. It can be that he’s a puppy from a generation before from Gina who nursed little Chicco back then. Fortunately, we were able to bring Herbie to safety in time and he escaped a terrible fate.

Herbie was called our little warrior because he suffered from severe mange when he arrived and was almost hairless – he fought his way back! Herbie can sometimes be a bit nervous, which sometimes gets in his way. He trusts people who approach him kindly, and a treat can help break the ice. He must have gone through a lot as a little puppy on the street. Despite his nervousness, Herbie is a lovable dog. He is very loyal to his caregivers and the dogs he lives with in the kennel. Herbie would be a great second dog for a confident first dog who can show him how life outside the refuge works and help him overcome his insecurity. Herbie is a medium-sized, not very tall dog who is also used to walking on a leash. He is not a panic or fear dog.

Herbie was likely born in July 2021. Herbie deserves a chance, and we hope he finds it with you!
